“The Sustainable Studio” Concept Design
This project was to establish how I could expand my business in the future with a focus on sustainability. Tessa Jeanne’s Sustainable Studio would seek to bring less harm to us and nature by educating other artists on the use of sustainable materials and methods for their art practices. Being eco-conscious, we can embrace the mess of art and life while keeping nature in mind.
The making of
The Sustainable Studio…
When I first started painting, I had the idea that all art lasts forever especially when I saw the famous paintings in all the history books and museums. Although as a practicing artist, there are so many of my works that never see the light of day. They’re either tucked into a dark corner to become something at a later date or thrown away. Same with art supplies. Seeing the aftermath of my own faults and others in landfills, hurting the environment, or even hurting ourselves with some of the products, I saw a need to educate myself and others on safer, sustainable art practices. After some deliberation, this became The Sustainable Studio.
Originally, the idea started as “Tessa Jeanne’s Sustainable Studio Journal” which I still love the idea, but this was quite a mouthful and narrowed subject of what I wanted this concept to embrace. Considering this, I changed the name to “Tessa Jeanne’s Sustainable Studio” which ultimately changed to The Sustainable Studio after some editing.
