End of Year Journal 2022
The year of 2022 turned out to be fulfilling and transformative but, I’ll keep it short…
Refractions Exhibition 2022
This November, I had the lovely opportunity to contribute to the Refractions: A Collection of Contemporary Artists Exhibition! From prep to show, my fine arts class collaborated to create a one-night exhibition of our eclectic work in the SCAD Studio space!
Summer of 2022
Gratitude is something that’s overcome me the past three months. Gratitude to my peers, my family, and to the many human connections I’ve made. Gratitude for the opportunity to learn more about myself as an artist and as a human being…
Follow the mess!
The Messy Book Shelf of 2024:
The Inheritance Cycle series - Christopher Paolini - Finally finished reading Inheritance! I wanted to once again take an adventure to Alagaësia to indulge in the life of dragons, elves, dwarves, and many more mythical creatures. In a of struggle of power and war, you can find so much love and peace within this series time and time again. Cannot wait to read the newest addition to the collection, Murtagh, picking up where Inheritance ends and diving deeper into the story of my favorite misjudged character.
The Flower Bride - Roshani Chokshi - What a lovely and tragic tale about love. in my own grief this book gave comfort that even the darkest parts of ourselves can be loved.
Artcurious - Jennifer Dasal - Still have yet to finish this lovely collection of the history of some of the most famous artists and works. Unfortunately, this one is still packed away from the big move so I’ve yet to fully finish it.
Navigating the Art World - Delphian - The art world is ever changing, even more so with social media. This small book is packed full of knowledge that’s helped me navigate updating this website and using social media to showcase my art.
The Secret Lives of Color - Kassia St. Clair - Color will never cease to amaze me in how it can change an artwork, this book gives knowledge into the many colors we use and see every day.
PJatO: The Chalice of the Gods - Rick Riordan - I’ve been following the life of Percy Jackson ever since I picked up my brother’s old first edition copy back in early high school. I’m so glad Rick Riordan decided to bring us all back to the character who started it all with this new series. Looking forward to reading the next one!
Build Like a Woman - Kathleen Griffith - As a young small business owner with an online art shop, I’m looking to figure what is best for my business and this book holds the key to building that foundation! I met Kathleen through the Gene Alcott trip to Los Angeles. She’s such an inspiration and I can’t wait to gain more of her knowledge from this new read.
The Sun and the Star - Mark Oshiro & Rick Riordan - Next up on the fiction line up for me!
The Foxglove King - Hannah Whitten - Next up on the fiction line up for me!
The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle - Unfortunately, this one as well is still packed away from the big move and I’ve yet to find the box it was buried in.
100 Ways to Change Your Life - Liz Moody - A perfect book for a quick daily read from a section. From health tips to mindsets and more, there’s so much insight you can gain from this book.
My goal this year is to read at least a chapter a day. With my scatterbrain, my bookshelf currently has this many books lined up. Some of these have already been started, and some of them are next. The goal is to read them all this year but we shall see!
