Beauty in the Light
A Black-eyed Susan framed in sunlight. Nostalgia for a time long past.
This was one of my first oil paintings painted my junior year of high school. Any time I look at this one, it brings me back to Watkins Memorial making art amongst friends, sitting on desks, and painting with any spare time I had. As this was originally painted in 2016 at the beginning of my practice, it does show some archival degradation on the backside and sides of the canvas.
Oil on canvas, 2016, 22 x 22 in (55.88 x 55.88 cm)
